PA QSO Party 3.9, Fldigi Update & Club Contesting QST Article!

Home News

Hi All,

I have three quick announcement to share:

Pennsylvania In State QSO Party 3.9 is Now Available!

The PA QSO party folks have redefined the Canadian section multipliers to mirror ARRL Field Day. I've updated the in state version of the PA QSO party software accordingly. No changes were required for the out of state version.

As always, upgrades are free to registered users. You'll find the latest PA QSO Party software here.

If you are upgrading from a previous version, please be sure to follow these upgrade steps.

Fldigi to N3FJP Software Interface is Nearing Completion!

Just last evening, Dave, W1HKJ, author of Fldigi, wrote me with an update on his progress interfacing his digital software with N3FJP Software. Dave writes "the work is in progress and nearing completion"!

There is still some coding to be done and then a round of testing before general release, but Dave is working really hard and there should be more developments soon. In the mean time, if you aren't familiar with Fldigi, you can download the current version (that does not yet interface with my software) from Dave's web site here.

Kickstart Your Group with Club Contesting Article Published in August QST!

Contesting together as a club has really reinvigorated our local group! After our club's contest coordinator responsibilities fell to me, I wasn't sure what those responsibilities entailed, so I wrote my friends at ARRL and asked if they ever published an article on the topic. They said they hadn't, but saw the need for one. They encouraged me to do some digging on my own and write something up. The result is on page 61 of the August 2016 QST! You'll find the article in the online version of QST here:

You'll also find the article on my web site here (posted with permission):

http://www.n3fjp.com/help/clubcontesting.html

The article covers how your local group can organize and participate in club contests, how club contesting can really build enthusiasm and fun and how to use my club score processing software, so that your group can track your cumulative progress in real time!

And in response to the questions we always receive when we neglect to include the following in our e-mail announcements...

Donations are Gratefully Accepted!

And in response to the often asked question for which Kimberly and I are very grateful...

"I know your upgrades are free, but I also realize how much time and effort coding these enhancements and new programs take and that your pricing policy doesn't fully reflect that. Can I send you something to show my appreciation for your continued efforts?"

Yes, thanks so much, your continued support in any amount is very welcome and deeply appreciated! You can use this page:
